Side matches

The side matches are open to anyone, regardless of whether or not they are a main match competitor.

All Side Matches are run Heads Up, in that they are open to anybody.  The only “classes” are the name of the event.  For all Side Match events, the fee is $10 for 4 runs.  Competitors can run as many pre-final runs as they want to.  The one exception to this is a “ by Class” Best Single Run on a Plate Rack.  Rack will have 8” rounds, competitors will compete ONLY against the shooters in their class.  Cost will be $5 for 5 runs.

For the MOM events, the first portion of the competition done with a timer.    Your single best time will determine whether or not you make it into the finals as one of the 4 finalists.  If you aren’t in the finals yet, you’ll need to plunk down another $10 for another 4 runs  to keep trying to get into the final!     The finals are run MOM, best two out of three.   For the Timed Events, there are no Finals.  The top 4 times recorded will be deemed the 1st-4th Place winners.   For the Timed Events and the MOM events, the Cash Payback will be to the 4 Finalists, in order of placement, 40%, 30%, 20%, 10%.  The total cash payback will be half of all the entries for that match.

We anticipate that some of the side matches will have a gun instead of money for the winner.  Shooters may only take one gun from the entire competition.  If a shooter wins more than 1 side match with a gun, they will get a cash payout and 2nd place will be awarded the gun.   If  you believe you might win a better gun later on (in a different event), you can choose to take the money instead of the gun, and the 2nd place winner will get the gun.

Long Gun events all start with the shooter(s) at Port Arms
